A well known proverb that can actually be put into action and is easy to understand.
What have you done today to help another? What have you done to help someone who is need, someone who is hungry, someone who is thirsty or someone who is cold? A simple gift of food, a refreshing drink or even a blanket to keep the cold away is a precious treasure to someone in need.
A sympathetic ear that listens, someone to talk to or even a smile can go a long way in making someone’s day better.
If you can’t help everyone, then just help one person (Mother Teresa). If everyone helped one person than the majority of people in need would be covered.
What greater deed in the world is there, and what greater way to serve the God in you and the God in others by serving those in need?
Next time you have some spare time take a moment to think what you can do to help others. For hands that serve are holier than lips that pray.
